How to add cross process with Claude

The pale holographic backdrop and the label turn acid lime-yellow, while the black dropper cap sinks into deep navy, like slide film developed in the wrong chemicals.

Get this effect

  1. Switch to Code in your Claude Desktop App

  2. Install the skill (once)

    Show the prompt
Install the Recharm video effects skill: download https://recharm-growth-staging.s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/website/downloads/recharm-video-effects.zip and unzip it into ~/.claude/skills
  3. Ask for the effect

    Add cross process to input.mp4
    Red curve points (input/output): 0/0 0.25/0.15 0.75/0.85 1/1
    Green curve points: 0/0 0.25/0.2 0.5/0.55 0.75/0.88 1/1

Several videos, several effects, one ask

Put your clips in the folder, mention them with @, and ask for everything at once. Claude runs one tested script after another on each clip, then joins them.

Add cross process to @clip1.mp4, put a sale badge on @clip2.mp4, give @clip3.mp4 a VHS look, then join all three with crossfades.

Settings you can change

Ask Claude to change any of these, or edit them at the top of the command.

SettingDefaultWhat it does
RED0/0 0.25/0.15 0.75/0.85 1/1Red curve points (input/output). The S-shape adds contrast.
GREEN0/0 0.25/0.2 0.5/0.55 0.75/0.88 1/1Green curve points. Lifted highlights give the green cast.
BLUE0/0.15 0.5/0.42 1/0.7Blue curve points. Raising 0 tints shadows blue; lowering 1 turns highlights yellow.
SATURATION1.3Extra color on top of the curves. 1 leaves it as is.

Without the skill

Don’t want to install the skill? Paste this prompt into Claude Code and Claude writes the command itself.

Show the prompt
Give input.mp4 a cross-processed film look for the whole clip. Using ffmpeg, apply the curves filter with these per-channel points (input/output, 0-1): red '0/0 0.25/0.15 0.75/0.85 1/1', green '0/0 0.25/0.2 0.5/0.55 0.75/0.88 1/1' and blue '0/0.15 0.5/0.42 1/0.7', then eq with saturation 1.3. Bright areas should come out yellow-green (about RGB 215,235,135 for the pale backdrop), the darkest areas should turn deep blue (about RGB 15,30,65), and overall brightness should stay close to the original. Keep the size (540x960), 30fps, 6 seconds and the audio. Encode H.264 yuv420p and save it as output.mp4.

Run it without Claude

This is the exact command we tested. Save it as cross-process.sh and run:

sh cross-process.sh input.mp4 output.mp4
Show the command
#!/bin/sh
# Cross process: per-channel curves that push highlights to acid yellow-green, sink shadows to blue and add contrast, like slide film developed as negative.
# Usage: sh cross-process.sh input.mp4 output.mp4
# Needs ffmpeg.
