# How to add a warm tone filter with Claude

The cool blue-white backdrop turns peach and amber and the white label goes cream, as if the bottle were standing in late-afternoon sun, while the picture stays just as bright.

Made by the command on this page, from our own test clip.

## Get this effect

1. ### Switch to Code in your [Claude Desktop App](https://claude.com/download)

2. ### Install the skill (once)

   ```
   Install the Recharm video effects skill: download https://recharm-growth-staging.s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/website/downloads/recharm-video-effects.zip and unzip it into ~/.claude/skills
   ```

3. ### Ask for the effect

   ```
   Add a warm tone filter to input.mp4
   Color temperature the clip is re-lit at: 4200
   Color strength after warming: 1.15
   ```

## Several videos, several effects, one ask

Put your clips in the folder, mention them with @, and ask for everything at once. Claude runs one tested script after another on each clip, then joins them.

Add a warm tone filter to **@clip1.mp4**, put a sale badge on **@clip2.mp4**, give **@clip3.mp4** a VHS look, then join all three with crossfades.

## Settings you can change

Ask Claude to change any of these, or edit them at the top of the command.

| Setting      | Default | What it does                                                                                                     |
| ------------ | ------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `KELVIN` | `4200` | Color temperature the clip is re-lit at. 6500 is neutral daylight; lower is warmer (3200 is candlelight orange). |
| `SATURATION` | `1.15` | Color strength after warming. 1 keeps the original; higher makes the warm tint glow more. |

## Without the skill

Don’t want to install the skill? Paste this prompt into Claude Code and Claude writes the command itself.

```
Give input.mp4 a warm tone for the whole clip, from the first frame to the last, so it looks lit by late-afternoon sun. Re-light it at a color temperature of 4200K while keeping each pixel's brightness (ffmpeg: colortemperature=temperature=4200:pl=1), then raise the saturation to 1.15x (ffmpeg: eq=saturation=1.15). The cool blue-white backdrop (around RGB 193, 201, 214) should come out peach (around RGB 230, 197, 166) and the white label cream (around RGB 239, 192, 141), with the overall brightness unchanged. Don't add any text (if you ever do, draw it with Pillow, not ffmpeg's drawtext). Keep the size, 30fps, the 6 second length and the audio. Use ffmpeg, encode H.264 yuv420p and save it as output.mp4.
```

## Run it without Claude

This is the exact command we tested. Save it as `warm-tone-filter.sh` and run:

```
sh warm-tone-filter.sh input.mp4 output.mp4
```

```
#!/bin/sh
# Warm tone filter: shift the whole clip toward orange-yellow, as if it were lit by late-afternoon sun.
# Usage: sh warm-tone-filter.sh input.mp4 output.mp4
set -e
IN="$1"; OUT="$2"
KELVIN=4200       # white balance the footage is re-lit at; 6500 is neutral daylight, lower is warmer
SATURATION=1.15   # 1 keeps the original color strength; higher makes the warm tint glow more
# colortemperature tints the frame like a 3600K light while keeping each pixel's brightness;
# eq then lifts the color strength a little so the warmth reads as sunlight, not a dull cast.
ffmpeg -y -i "$IN" -vf "colortemperature=temperature=$KELVIN:pl=1,eq=saturation=$SATURATION" \
  -r 30 -c:v libx264 -crf 18 -pix_fmt yuv420p -c:a copy "$OUT"
```
